Country Life, Edinburgh - Quality fishing tackle for 30 years

Country Life has an impeccable reputation for quality, service & reliability.  We have been trading in the same location on Balgreen Road, Edinburgh for over 30 years. As one of Edinburgh's largest fishing shops Country Life supplies an extensive range of fishing tackle and equipment from leading brands such as Hardy’s, Grey’s, Sage, Lamson, Vision, Scierra, C&F, Cortland, Fulling Mill, Shimano, Fox, Korum, Preston and many more.

Although Scotland is usually associated with fly fishing, there is also an established tradition of coarse fishing throughout the Central Belt, and we carry a substantial stock of items for a wide range of species. Neither do we neglect sea fishing. There are thousands of locations around our coast that offer fishing opportunities for the sea angler and we can supply almost every need from stock, from made-up rigs to complete outfits.

Our location on the corner of Balgreen Road & Gorgie Road has many advantages, being easy to find with loads of free public parking. Country Life is ideally situated directly across the road from Saughton Park. We use the park to test and demonstrate new fly rods, allowing customers to "try before they buy". Our fly casting lessons are also conducted in the park ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all in beautiful surroundings as the parks boundary extends to the Water of Leith which itself provides some remarkable urban trout and garayling fishing.

Permits for the Water of Leith are available from the shop, as are Visitor permits for the Almond at Crammond, the Tweed at Peebles and a number of stillwater fisheries within the district. We are always happy to give advice about suitable venues for all types of fishing throughout the local area and Scotland in general.
